Cut Down Energy Costs With Led Retrofit Technology

!±8± Cut Down Energy Costs With Led Retrofit Technology

If your dreamscape is being haunted by daily visions of mounting electricity bills, it is high time you either rob a bank to pay the huge energy costs or simply choose to change your light bulbs!

Replacing ordinary lighting with energy efficient retrofits technology is the most straight-forward task anyone can do to reduce their energy bills. Retrofitting buildings is not a new technology anymore and its recent foray into the home lighting arena has made the concept more efficient and affordable to homeowners from all cross-sections of the society.

When it comes to saving energy with home lighting, LEDs are definitely, the best option. These high-powered light-emitting diodes produce more light per watt for up to 100,000 hours under normal use and last longer than traditional bulbs too. Did we mention that LEDs use just 5.8 watts of power, compared to the 60 watts used up for an equally bright incandescent bulb? Well, LEDs also consume less than 9 percent of the energy consumed by common bulbs and less than 30 percent of that consumed by fluorescent lights.

Once considered useful only for flashlights, traffic lights, laptop computers and giant video billboards, LEDs are now revered as the reigning royalty in home lighting retrofits technology. Providing homes with energy efficient lighting is the least expensive way to cut energy costs to phenomenal levels.

It takes less than 60 minutes to convert all existing fluorescent fixtures in a home into low-maintenance, high-efficiency LED lighting. Though it is not mandatory to replace all incandescent bulbs at a single go, there is no harm in doing so provided the initial one-time cost of LED lighting doesn't burn a hole in your wallet.

As a general rule of the thumb, choose warmer LED lighting systems for indoors and whiter lights for outdoors. A color temperature of 2500-4000 Kelvin is perfect for the interiors while bulbs with color temperatures of 5000-7000 Kelvin render high visibility outside your home. Switch to LEDs for rooms that are over-heated by a dozen ordinary flood lights. LEDs give off very less heat and thereby help you in cutting down the costs of your air-conditioning,

A guaranteed reduction in energy bills is the first and foremost benefit of retrofitting a home with energy efficient lighting. A/C loads are reduced by 1 kilowatt for every 3 kilowatts of lighting energy saved (0-200 per ton of A/C saved with LED cool technology). This is especially true if the lighting retrofit program is being done by reputable and licensed companies in the energy smart industry who offer a wide range of innovative home lighting solutions at guaranteed energy cost savings and unbelievable positive cash flows. These companies specialize in retrofits technology and encourage home owners to upgrade their existing facilities with state-of-the-art energy-efficient lighting with no money paid up-front.

With the huge energy savings that is now possible through LEDs, homes, offices and other complexes are doing everything they can to strengthen the trend towards retrofits technology. We can rest assured that every step we take towards resuscitating our planet back to life, effectively cuts down on our energy expenditure as well.

What is Carbon Footprint?
A carbon footprint is the measure of the amount of greenhouse gases, measured in units of carbon dioxide(CO2), produced by human activities or products. CO2 is created from the burning of fossil fuels such as oil and coal to create electricity. A carbon footprint can be measured for an individual, organization, or product and is typically given in tons of CO2-equivalent (CO2-eq) per year. A typical North American generates about 20 tons of CO2-eq each year.

Solar Post Cap Lights - An important part of the design of coverage

!±8± Solar Post Cap Lights - An important part of the design of coverage

When choosing a platform for your home, cover all aspects of design, including layers, styles, materials and general research costs. Once the deck design, the materials you want (wood or PVC) is selected, is the creative side of you, the final touch that really 'make' can create the bridge. One of the best ways to do this is with the use of solar light post cap.

Pali support needed to hold the structure of the bridge and up the stairs, but they areoften very flashy and does not add much to the aesthetics of the design of the bridge. Solar post cap lights can add an interesting accent lighting is not too intrusive, but the lights just enough to make use of the platform at night.

Solar post cap lights are very easy to use. During the day, the sunlight on a solar collector panel that collects usable electrical energy that is stored in the internal battery. A photo sensor in the tipof his unit "sees" the sun, and know when to turn the lights on and off. Until they get too much sun during the day, your solar post cap is still soft night light glows for hours to offer.

With standard lighting options, you need an electrician to install outdoor electrical points and lines running from the house to rent any light. The electrician can also add a new route to the fuse box. All this work can be expensiveand in his way. Sunlight post cap eliminates the need to perform, wires everywhere. Why not get away from CA, which can save money on electricity bills can as well.

Update your camper with LED lighting

!±8± Update your camper with LED lighting

If you do a lot of Boondocking (camping no connection), then you know the battery life is one of the most important things you need to plan for you, especially if you have a small battery bank. A good way is to save a lot of energy to the existing incandescent bulbs to LED lighting to convert. LED stands for Light Emitting Diode and provides an entirely different light than incandescent or fluorescent. The biggest advantage to a boondocks, is that LEDs require very littlePower to operate, so they are not as aware of turning off lights when not needed.

How much energy can you save with LEDs? In a typical travel trailer 27 feet with excellent image and say a couple of bunk beds, you have 20 + 12 watt bulbs. If you were to have it all at once, would be about 20 amps of DC power designs. Within hours, your only group of 24 12 volts in the vicinity would have died. Even if you had twoBatteries, would not have much left at the end of a two-day weekend without a battery recharge.

Well, if you replace interior light bulb in each of these trailer drama series with 24 LED lamp were warm color, decreases each drawing 190 mA, the total power consumption at 3.8 amps, approximately five times the energy consumption in less. Probably would not replace every light bulb with 24 LED lamp series, but it is possible and if so, would take you to 5 times less electricity, even if youhad every light.

There are several routes you take when you can mod the LED lighting: individual lights, such as a night or reading light, all or some indoor lighting fixtures, interior and exterior storage compartments, etc. Much will be domestic and Coolness factor dependent you are trying to achieve. Replace light bulbs can only break your piggy bank to do, but to help a couple can still save battery power.

A single LED light for one night, as inThe bathroom can be a lifesaver real. Well, can not save lives, but if you go for two in the morning, will not be blinded by the light and you should be able to go right back to sleep. A single LED with a SPST switch to activate the bathroom light can be mounted enough light can do for your business.

It can be done, some lights are changing, as the lights above the bed, which is usually too light for reading. There are direct replacement LEDThat changes the light bulbs, except to replace incandescent bulbs require. For this type of LED lamp, the "warm white" type. The cool white LEDs to provide a bluish color, the bright color and can not answer your reading tastes. The warm white LEDs give a yellow color similar to that of a regular bulb.

If the replacement of the leading lights of the RV and plan the type of mechanism, the two devices can contain a switch in the middle,Only one of the lamps replaced in order to reduce costs. This not only saves money, but it is also possible to provide more light when you need to light the second lamp. In this case, you should consider the LEDs, which have a wide viewing angle, at least 120 degrees. This is the angle, is projected under the lamplight. The wider the better, if you try to light a large area. These lamps are typically configured in a flat package with lots of LEDs, as many as 36 in some cases. SimplySecure the bracket with Velcro and plug-ins such as a conventional bulb.

Another mod is a cool LED light tube LED fits under your camper work plan. Many luxury motor homes have this feature as a standard option, but there is no reason why you have not, can not look at this class. First, someone to help test fit for the length of the rope, so you have enough for the entire work surface. Then get some double sided tape and stick it in the closet or under the work plan, in which you want to walk the rope.If you have left over rope, drill a hole the size of the diameter of the rope and run the excess through the hole. Only the stick, rope and firmly press the tape. You can also switch to the power and control cable.

A light step is a simple LED mod, which consumes very little power. If you forget to turn it off, do not worry as it can for several days and still easy on the battery. You can add an additional lighting or a light yellow side marker lights. This bracketsome screws on the bottom of the ladder. The power supply can be performed on a switch hidden inside. Some even have light sensors so they turn on automatically when it gets dark and turn in the morning.

External pockets are a good candidate for LED lights. This may be through a pin-switch so that when the battery compartment open, the light comes on are supplied with electricity, e. Then, when you close the door the color of the LED light is not as important as the placement oflight. The subjects are usually in the form of a rectangle, and then try to put the lights on the corners of the room. This way you get the most of light in all parts of the bearing surface.

Finally Update your camper outdoor lighting can make for a very clean look to improve safety and to go on the road. Porch, LED markers, open space, backup, gymnastics and daytime running lights are all candidates for the replacement of the LED. Fortunately for you, many companies, for example, are now BargmannValves direct replacement, all you need to upgrade to be made. Just be sure to budget enough, as a full replacement of outdoor lighting can run into hundreds of dollars.

Tip: LED brake / tail lights can not be found with some thermal flasher units older work on some vehicles. An LED brake / tail light flasher requires electronic / flasher unit that is usually available at your local auto parts store. Ask only for the electronic equivalent of heatIndicators.

LEDs: The Light of the Future

!±8± LEDs: The Light of the Future

Light Emitting Diode (LED), "semiconductors that emit light when zapped with [positive polarity] power" [1] are about to take over the private commercial sector and light industry. With more efficiency, longer life, and how they "clean", the LEDs are the future of light, pushing the traditional incandescent and fluorescent species. Only the higher production costs for LEDs is the existence of extendedincandescent bulbs.

History

When considering the history of the bulbs, the higher costs associated with the production of LEDs are not an insurmountable obstacle to overcome. The bulb stayed for about 70 years before moving "candles, oil lamps and gas lamps," as the main source of light. [2] When the first light bulb was rough created in 1809 by Humphry Davy, an English chemist, made from two pieces of coal for electricity, was not feasible.Later, when the first real light bulb by Warren De la Rue was created in 1820 to create using a platinum filament for the light, it was too expensive for commercial use. Only when a light bulb Thomas Edison used carbonized filament inside a vacuum in the year 1879, the bulb practical and affordable for consumers has created.

Although relatively new, the concept of LED the first time in 1907 when Henry Joseph Round used a piece of siliconCarbide (SiC) to emit a faint yellow light. This was confirmed by experiments of Bernhard Gudden and Robert Wichard Pohl in Germany at the end of 1920, in which they used "fluorescent materials of zinc sulfide (ZnS) [treated] with copper (Cu) were prepared" to create soft lighting . [3 performed, followed], but at that time there was a major obstacle that many of these LEDs will soon not work efficiently at room temperature. On the contrary, had in liquid nitrogen (N) to be immersedperformance.

This has led to American and British experiments in 1950 that gallium arsenide (GaAs) instead of zinc sulfide (ZnS) and the creation of an LED, which made it invisible, infrared light produced is used at room temperature. These LEDs immediately found a use in photoelectric sensors, sensor applications. The first "visible spectrum" LED, the production of light "red" was used in 1962 by Nick Holonyak Jr. (born 1928) of the General Electric Company, which created GalliumArsenide phosphide (GaAsP) instead of gallium arsenide (GaAs). Once in a lifetime, were quickly adopted for use as spies.

It was not long before they were brighter than red LED light, and also orange when electroluminescent gallium phosphide (GaP) substrates were produced. Until the mid-1970, Phoshide gallium arsenide (GaP) has along with two gallium phosphide (GaP) substrates were used to make red, green and yellow to produce light. This resulted in a tendency "towards [LEDUse in] more practical applications "such as calculators, digital watches and testing, because this color extended said that" the human eye is more yellow-green. "[4]

Developed, however, the rapid growth in the field of LED has up to 1980, such as aluminum gallium arsenide (GaAIAs) should begin to offer "super bright" LEDs (10 times brighter than LEDs in use at that time) - "first red, then yellow and ...Green ", which also requires less energy savings. provides [5] This has led to the concept of the first LED flashlight led in 1984.

Then, in parallel with emerging laser diodes, which have been concentrated for maximum light output, the first "ultra bright" LEDs in the early 1990's through the use of aluminum and gallium indium phosphide (InGaAlP), in part by Toshiba creation of an LED that produces LED "reflects the 90% of the light produced ..." InAlso during this period was noted that a variety of colors, including "white" (although a light "real" White recently produced with the use of an organic LED (OLED) Cambridge Display Technology, UK) was able to "adjustments in the size of the band gap", when indium aluminum gallium phosphide (InGaAlP) has been used widely in part because of the work of Shuji Nakamura of Nichia Corporation, which has developed to produceblue LED in the world premiere of 1993 [6]. Today, this technology is used for LEDs that emit even "exotic colors" such as pink, purple and teal, as well as "real ultra-violet light to produce 'white' [7].

A major milestone was reached in 1997, when the costs of entry into force, to "high brightness" LEDs the intensity of the (benefits) exceeded the costs to produce it.
Coinciding with this milestone is the new technology, newwhich is likely to reduce costs (and improve the exposure) even more - the introduction of microscopic crystals or quantum dots ([8]

Benefits

The benefits of adoption of LED light source only be provided for each application significantly. The LEDs emit almost no heat (wasted energy) and are "... in fact they are cold to the touch" as opposed to incandescent bulbs. They are also more durable (encased in a shell tempered and resistant to vibration and shock) and howlast up to 50 times longer than conventional incandescent and fluorescent lamps (some can be used up to 10 years), and "with a higher share of electricity flowing through it," translating into "savings for consumers. " [9] According to the U.S. Department of Energy ", the widespread adoption of LEDs could be the U.S. consumption of electricity for lighting reduced by 29%" [10], as they require less power to operate and by their nature, to reduce the amount ofAir conditioning needed to keep areas cool and comfortable.

The shape of the LEDs provides advantages even when the light bulbs on that comparison. Unlike incandescent and fluorescent lamps, LEDs do not use an external reflector to collect light and direct it. In addition, "LEDs are very fast ... rag [ing] full brightness in approximately 0.01 seconds - 10 times faster." Conventional light bulbs [11]

LEDs do not produceHarmful ultraviolet output, the fabric can, unlike conventional bulbs, are lightweight, environmentally friendly and can have different colors (without using color filters) on the amount of power that each primary color base that produce electricity is not wasted . The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Nano Structures Lab) is doing research aimed at creating an LED, "in which color and intensity (brightness) can be set, could leadelectronically. "[12]

Uses and the future

Since LEDs are gaining a greater share of the lighting market, are present in a variety of devices and applications, the use of traffic control devices (eg lights, the individual signal units, the colors from green to include yellow to red for a change), Barricade lights, warning signs, a message (such as Times Square, New York, and news, message boards, panels), cell phones, televisions, large videoScreens during sports and other external events (such as Miami Dolphins end-zone screen), pocket calculators, digital clocks and watches, flashlights (including models for second hand lift and 60 hour of light, eliminating the need new batteries used for emergency reserves), buoy Christmas lights, start and runway lights, the lights and automotive applications (such as lights and head and signal lights in some vehicles, drivers of the new 2006 FordMustang can also change the color (125 different ones) of its "LED dashboard full of clicking on the" "function" MyColor [13]).

In fact, the industry expects to replace all incandescent lamps with LEDs by 2010, while efforts are currently underway to replace all traffic lights with LED lights. At the same time, plans are now underway to use LEDs, roads and much of the Third World and in other areas "without the aid of electricity," because"Solar battery" that can power the LEDs for the duration of each night. [14]

In addition, "Phillips Electronics develops remote-controlled LED lighting [while] Boeing Corp. plans LEDs throughout the interior of the new 787 Dreamliner commercial aircraft to use." [15]

With the promise that LEDs last, it is likely that one day will be lighting homes and offices, X-ray in the medical field, provide Power PC monitor, anda selection of other devices and applications. The possibilities are endless. But before LEDs can replace the light bulb, "the designers and promoters need to overcome the usual barriers to adoption of the technology ... the mainstream market. Industry-approved standard should be developed and costs must be reduced" [16] Currently, costs are down and some companies in this industry-standard motion (for example, Phillips Electronics is working on LED lamps that canScrew in the light of existing outlets, while besthomeledlighting.com already screwed provides LED light bulbs - one of 70 LEDs that have a "warm white light similar to a light bulb" is [17] with only 3 watts of energy and other LED bulbs actually change colors when lit). Thanks to these efforts, as well as exploitation of adoption, and the production of LED technology by a growing number of companies, it is inevitable that the LEDs are the only source of illuminationtraditional incandescent and fluorescent extinct. In short, the LEDs are the light of the future, a light that not only consumers but also industry and the world at large will benefit.
